Gen Z Voter Challenge
I chose to include this assignment in my ePortfolio because I enjoyed working on this assignment and it was very relevant to what was going on at the time. I enjoyed learning about the statistics of how many people my age vote and I was passionate about encouraging others to vote as well. I know that there were a lot of people who didn't want to vote because they were undecided about the candidates, so creating content to post on social media was a great way to encourage those people to get out and vote!
Search Engines
I chose to include my reflection on the search engine training because over the two week period where we learned about using search engines, I learned a lot of thins that I didn't know about before. The way I had been using using the internet to search before was inefficient, but this training helped me figure out how to effectively use my resources. I have begun to implement these techniques for my school work, especially because I am currently working on a research project for my JOUR200 class. These techniques have made the process of searching for sources much easier.
Mid-Semester Research Project
Has Social Media Conditioned Ours Minds to Compare?
For my project I researched the effects social media has on people comparing themselves to others online. I looked at the mental health issues social media can cause and how that relates to people having low self-esteem and comparing themselves to others.
Three Semester Review
As my time in Media Scholars comes to an end, I have reflected on the past three semesters I've spent in the program. The Media, Self, and Society classes have taught me things that I will always remember and that I will take with me into my future career. To read more about my experience, click the link below.
